Analysis – This six-year old has been running well this season which has included two wins over this 2m trip with the latter coming from a 4lb lower mark (2nd start in a handicap). He was unsuited by the soft ground at both Ascot and Sandown in better grades to this and his most recent fourth at Taunton reads well (would’ve finished closer too had he not been hampered when making good headway). He likes the quicker ground and his two runs here previous have resulted in a C&D novice hurdle win as well as being beaten less than a length by the highly-regarded Vinndication on debut in a bumper. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t go close now dropped in grade.

Analysis – This mare went close on handicap debut from this mark of 117 and ran respectably when fourth over track and trip from 2lb higher next time. She didn’t stay the 3m when last seen at the end of February but this looks easier on paper and the addition of first-time cheekpieces may help her to eke out that first win in handicap company with Richard Johnson doing the steering.
