Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Todays Racing Tip – ACEY MILAN
Time & Track – 1.50 Newbury (08/02)
Best Odds – 7/2 @ Bet365

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – Has been slightly frustrating since going over hurdles with only the one victory but has ran a couple of solid races in defeat this season, finishing second on first two starts since his summer break and though higher in the ratings now I still feel he’s capable of winning off this mark. If he shows the form of his Grade 3 second at Haydock on penultimate start then this six-year old should be very competitive and he returns to the scene of a demolition job in a bumper on this card two seasons ago (that was before finishing fourth in the Champion Bumper).

Todays Racing Tip – ROUGE VIF
Time & Track – 2.05 Warwick (08/02)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Bet365

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – Sole bumper winner and three time hurdles winner (including a Grade 2 novice at Kelso), this six-year old has taken well to fences so far. He won well on chase debut at Market Rasen and though last of four in a Cheltenham Grade 2 next time he wasn’t disgraced beaten eight-lengths behind some good horses. He was last seen finishing a close second to the 156-rated Global Citizen with higher rated horses in behind, off level weights and a repeat of that performance is bound to give Harry Whittington’s gelding a fantastic chance as I think that level of form was better than that of the short-priced fav Nube Negra’s second at Sandown. It’s interesting that Gavin Sheehan (who has ridden this horse on all bar one of his 11 races) comes here for just the one ride before heading off to Newbury. He’s the pick at the prices for me.

Todays Racing Tip – POTTERS HEDGER
Time & Track – 3.50 Warwick (08/02)
Best Odds – 7/1 @ Bet365

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – Remains on the same mark as for his second at Lingfield in very testing ground over 2m7f the last day, a mark in which he won by eight-lengths off at Plumpton just over a year ago (3m1f, good-to-soft). He’s been stepped up to 3m2f which is worth a go having ran well a few times over a furlong shorter and the return to a better surface could see him improve that little bit more to win this (both career wins have come with good in the description. Plenty in here with chances but if showing his best form then he should be involved in the finish.
