Analysis – A very open and competitive finale on this card with plenty going there with a chance but it’s the Declan Carroll four-year old who gets my vote. He was a winner on second start of the season at Musselburgh and though unsuccessful since he’s dropped back to that same mark of 87 and drops back into class 4 for the first time since (2/2 in this grade). He’s certainly well-handicapped now having contested Group 1 races on two occasions last year (despite well beaten he was found good enough to take part in that company) as well as being a Group 3 winner as a two-year old. The booking of James Doyle is also worth noting having won already on him along with a couple of close efforts and I think he’s certainly going there with a good chance.

Analysis – Won a similar if not slightly better nursery than this at York just a couple of weeks ago and as a result he’s been raised 9lb but the step up to 7f now could eke out further improvement for this two-year old. He’s bred to get 7f and the way he stayed on to score the last day would suggest that he should relish this longer trip – versatile grund-wise and I think he holds solid claims with this track also suitable having also won at the galloping track of Newbury three starts ago.
