Analysis – Still only a four-year old and has so far gained some nice experience, especially at this course. He was beaten a length over C&D behind the 142-rated Nelson River at this meeting last year and returned here back in March when a decent fifth in the Fred Winter off a 3lb higher mark. He was outclassed in a Grade 1 at Aintree the following month but that can be forgiven with the first and second two very talented horses (Pentland Hills & Fakir D’oudaries). His return to action was satisfactory when fourth, beaten eight-lengths, up at Ayr and hopefully that’s set him up perfectly fitness wise now. The return to this course could help and he’s certainly on a nice mark based on a couple of last year’s efforts, as well as his return which came in a higher grade. Overpriced in my opinion and should hopefully run a good race.

Todays Racing Tip – COGRY
Time & Track – 2.30 Cheltenham (13/12)
Best Odds – 11/2 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – One of my favourite horses currently in training and after winning this race last year he is back to defend his crown off the same mark of 139. He prepared for this with a solid third over a furlong shorter here back in October (off this mark) and if coming forward for that then he should be competitive especially if getting into a nice jumping rhythm upfront, like he’s done on his most recent outings at this course. He’ll like the conditions even more so if the rain got into the ground over the past day or so and the trip is fine, it’s a competitive affair but he’s capable of winning it.

Todays Racing Tip – COPPER GONE WEST
Time & Track – 3.30 Doncaster (13/12)
Best Odds – 5/1 @ Blacktype
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Her form so far has been up and down, she won a couple of maiden/novice hurdles back in the spring time (over 2m4f) and sandwiched in between those victories was a half-length defeat over this 3m trip off 5lb lower on handicap debut. Since her return to action she’s unseated, pulled-up and more recently finished a close fourth in a higher grade. Up a pound for that run which is fair as the winner looked a handicap blot and I think this 3m on a long straight should suit this six-year old as she wasn’t stopping through the line the last day, Charlie Price also takes off a handy 5lb which technically puts her on the same mark as for that narrow defeat at Newbury back in March.
