Tipsters Review - January 14, 2019

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Todays Racing Tip – WIND PLACE AND SHO
Time & Track – 1.20 Fontwell (14/01)
Best Odds – 7/1 @ Betfair

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – This seven-year old was beaten only a neck on New Year’s Day at Fakenham in this grade and has only been raised a pound for that effort. He won over the extended 2m1f here back in October and that success was sandwiched between two solid efforts over C&D (beaten two-and-a-half lengths both times). His better form has come on good ground though he was a good-to-soft winner on the flat so the ground shouldn’t be too much of a problem and with him shaping though a longer trip would suit, this slightly softer surface over 2m3f should provide more of a stamina test which will hopefully help him.

Todays Racing Tip – MIDNIGHT BLISS
Time & Track – 2.25 Fontwell (14/01)
Best Odds – 3/1 @ Betfair

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – This mare won four times between the flags last spring and followed those up with a couple of victories in novice handicaps under rules, one of which came over track and trip. She’s 10lb higher here though ran very well from 2lb lower at Southwell when conceding almost two-stone to the winner and she can be forgiven his run at Huntingdon on Boxing Day (when tipped by me) as the jockey lost his irons and was subsequently pulled-up. Bryony Frost has been booked for the ride this time taking over from a claimer (1-1-2 on the mare) and a better show can be expected with a clear round.

Todays Racing Tip – CLONDAW WESTIE
Time & Track – 3.25 Fontwell (14/01)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Betfair

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – Returned from a break with a good fifth over the minimum 2m at Sandown in a higher grade and gets to run off a pound lower mark here. Finished last campaign by winning 4/5 (the loss was an unseat) and that included two wins round here over a slightly shorter trip. He wasn’t beaten far over C&D in a handicap hurdle so the step back up to the extended 2m3f is a plus. This eight-year old jumps well and must be a serious player if reproducing last season’s form at a course he loves jumping around.
