Analysis – Was outclassed at Cheltenham last month when fourth behind Lil Rockerfeller but had previously gone close at Warwick in a slightly better contest than this. He’s 3lb higher than that here but will enjoy the better ground and Charlie Mann is 2/6 when sending his runners on the long trek up to North Yorkshire. The Paddy Pie looks a danger after a good second last time out but I’m happy to stick with the seven-year old.

Analysis – Gamely won on first outing after a wind op back in May and after a third at Bangor this seven-year old went down by just under a length to Shantou Village on the forecasted good-to-soft ground. He’s had almost a month break since his seventh in a higher grade at Cheltenham last month and has been eased a pound for that run. He’s got race fitness coming into this and although Jonjo O’Neill’s yard isn’t always firing, you can never underestimate them.

Analysis – Has a good record since arriving at Gary Moore’s from France with form figures 1-2-1-P-2. That pulled-up came at the Grand National meeting in a Grade 1 novice hurdle won by the 149-rated Lalor so you can put a line through that as he’d previously won cosily twice. He reappeared with a good second in this grade and with that run under his belt should have more to come with him still only a five-year old and conditions to suit.
