Analysis – Won on second start last year which incidentally came around this time of year and was over this 1m trip. It also came off this mark of 85 which he now runs off after being dropped a pound for a solid fifth of 20 on seasonal reappearance at Naas a month ago. He’s partnered by the useful Sean Davis who claims a handy 5lb and having won on both good and soft ground he’s versatile in that regard. He should provide the most resistance to the short-priced favourite in this slightly easier contest from a nice low draw.

Analysis – This ten-year old has ran in the last three runnings of this race, finishing midfield the last twice but did win the 2016 race off a 6lb higher markon good ground. He’s been in terrific form this season which has included a double, the second of those an eight-length victory at Cheltenham in November. He was pulled-up in the Ladbrokes Trophy but returned after a break with a staying-on third in the Kim Muir over 3m2f and that looks a perfect prep for this race that has clearly been a target, step up in trip a positive and the ground will be perfect for him.

Analysis – Has been a very consistent performer in his short career so far, won a couple of novice hurdles and has taken well to chasing this year bar a flop at the festival last month. A line can be put through that as he was a good third prior to that in a Grade 2 at Kempton when beaten five-lengths by Bags Groove (151) and the fourth placed Secret Investor (150) has won both starts since. He’s off a mark of 138 so looks feasibly treated and there should be plenty more to come from this six-year old on just third handicap start.

Analysis – In the hope that she’s ready after a winter break, I think this four-year old could be hard to beat now dropping into a class 4, form of 2-1 in this grade. She was good in her last four outings winning once and beaten by narrow margins in the others which included a three-quarters of a length second in a class 2. She was a staying-on second over 6f on only previous course visit and could be up to conceding weight to her rivals.
