Analysis – This is a very open contest and I could make a case for all nine runners but I’ve landed on the Nicky Richards’ ten-year old who has been dropped 2lb for a solid 3rd in the Grade 3 Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby on Boxing Day which puts him back on his highest winning mark. The form of that race is working out well with the 4th winning a Grade 2 and two others going close since. He was beaten half-a-length off this mark in a class 2 on his penultimate start and this is a drop in grade. With ground/trip in favour, he should run his race with his trainer remaining in good form (33% strike-rate in past month).
