Mojo Star finished 2nd in the group 1 St Ledger last year as is stepping right up in trip for his return to action this year. Richard Hannon his trainer is a shrewd old cookie and he won’t have him running here to make up the numbers. He’s a well-bred son of Sea The Stars and if this isn’t too big of a test of stamina, I can see him running well.

Had some strong juvenile form to his name before his form tailed off last year. But he returned with a good run under an easy ride at Newmarket last time after having a wind-op. He should come on plenty for that run at back at the venue of his Windsor Castle win and Jersey Stakes 7th, back in a handicap with Ryan Moore booked he looks set to go well for a trainer who’s already saddled a winner at the meeting.

9-years-old now but he’s looked better than ever on his two runs this year and had he not got repeatedly hampered last time, I think he’d have gone close as he finished with a tonne of running left in him. Jamie Spencer takes over tomorrow (if that’s a good thing?) and with the draw/ground/pace in his favour, if he gets the breaks then he should go well also.
