Gary Priestley Results : September 3rd

Todays Racing Tip – LINCOLN

Time & Track – 2.40 ASCOT
Best Odds – 20-1 Bet365/Bet Victor
Analysis – All 3 career wins have been over 7F, he ran well 2 races back when a staying on 6th of 24 to Librisa Breeze over CD off a mark of 90, he’s 2lb lower now. He’s run 3 times over CD finishing 2nd of 26 off 97 on good/firm, 16th of 20 off 104 on soft and then that 6th of 24 off 90 on good/firm, so conditions are ideal for a big run.

Result: Lost -2

Todays Racing Tip – SUEGIOO

Time & Track – 3.30 HAYDOCK
Best Odds – 25-1 PP SJ WHILL
Analysis – Without doubt the class act here running off 105, his last appearance in a handicap was when 3rd beaten 1L in the 2015 Betfred Ebor at York off a mark of 104. Since then he has contested Listed and group races which has proven to be a grade too high for him. The slight worry is that he has only had 2 career wins although one of those was the Chester Cup in 2014, so stamina and the hustle and bustle of a big field handicap should be no problem to him.

Todays Racing Tip – DUTCH MASTERPIECE

Time & Track – 4.00 HAYDOCK
Best Odds – 11-1 B365 BVIC
Analysis – A winner of 7 of his 25 career races ALL of which have been over the minimum trip of 5F and include one here at Haydock. He’s a winner of 4 handicaps, a maiden, a listed race and a group 3. He ran well last time until getting no run close home at Glorious Goodwood behind Boom The Groom eventually beaten just 5L in 11th place, he’s been dropped 2lb since that run and is now on the same handicap mark as his last handicap win,98. In his younger days he like the ground o have plenty of cut with his first 3 career wins coming on a soft surface, his last 4 have all been on good ground the same as todays forcast going.

Todays Racing Tip – MOONRAKER

Time & Track – 4.10 ASCOT
Best Odds – 25/1 Bet Victor/ Paddy Power
Analysis – Another Channon/Egan combination the same as Lincoln earlier in the day. He has 2 career wins both coming here at Ascot, the first a maiden over 5F on good/soft then a Class 2 3yo h’cap over CD on good/firm off 98 the exact same race conditions and mark he races off today. He ran well in June when 2nd at Newcastle off 98 over 6F, that came on the back of a few listed and group races. He was put up 3lb for that 2nd place so racing off 101 was sent off 8-1F for a Class 2 h’cap over CD in July but could only finish 11th of 18 beaten 3L. Since then he has finished 21st beaten 8L in the Stewards Cup at Glorious Goodwood and then 13th of 20 in the Great St Wilfred at Ripon as a 50-1 outsider. This is once again a very competitive Saturday sprint h’cap,he has stall 18 against the stands rail which might be a slight concern with his hold up style of running but only if they come over to the rails.
