Gary Priestley horse racing tips results : September 6th

Todays Racing Tip – GWILI SPAR

Time & Track – 4.40 WORCESTER
Best Odds – 16-1 B365/Bet Victor
Analysis – A truly shocking race for this Class 5 0-100 h’cap hurdle for conditional/amateur riders. Between the 14 runners they’ve won 28 of their 402 races with 6 never won a race and of their last 70 races(5each) they have no wins. There are a couple who are well below their last winning mark namely Danceintothelight, Slieveardagh & Grove Pride, but the on I like is still to win a race after 30 attempts which I know doesn’t look great. He ran his best arce for some time 3 races ago when leading 2out only to stumble and fall that was over 3m at Uttoxeter but importantly under todays rider. The part I like is that he’s been running over 3miles for his last 4 runs and clearly not seeing it out so the drop back to 2m4 a trip that his form suggests is much more suitable and in such a weak race he could run better than his odds suggest.

Todays Racing Tip – LUCKY JIM

Time & Track – 2.40 WORCESTER
Best Odds – 16/1 Coral
Analysis – A winner of 2 of his 26 career runs 1 on the level and the other over hurdles. He’s yet to win over the larger obstacles but has 2 2nds from 8 runs and is now 6lb below his winning hurdle mark. He ran a good 5th to Gowanauthat on 30th August giving that horse 1lb, he subsequently won again off an 8lb higher mark, whereas our selection runs now off a 2lb lower mark. The 7th home that day was Argot who was tailed off but has subsequently won(albeit a poor race) by 41L at Fontwell on his next run. N.Fehily rode him for the first time that day and again takes the ride and only has the 2 rides all day.

Result – 2nd +2.2

Todays Racing Tip – MERCERS ROW

Time & Track – 2.50 REDCAR
Best Odds – 10-1 B365
Analysis – He’s a 9 times career winner on all grounds and trips from 5-8F. He’s run well twice in recent runs when a close 3rd at Catterick off 67 on the turf and last time off 62 on the AW at Newcastle when a staying on 4th. What I do find interesting is that D.Tudhope who rode him for his 1st 3 career wins, hasn’t ridden him since 2012 is back on board today.

Result – Lost

Todays Racing Tip – INGLEBY ANGEL

Time & Track – 3.50 REDCAR
Best Odds – 28-1 B365?BET VICTOR
Analysis – I’mseriously frustrated by this horse having tipped him a couple of times now recently. He’s won 10 of his 58 career races with 5 of them here at Redcar, but his last few races he’s been outpaced and stayed on late to be a closing 8th beaten 3-4L each time. He’s now 16lb below his last winning mark and in recent years all his wins have come on good/firm ground BUT in his younger days he won on soft and heavy so I’m hoping that the ground won’t be a negative. It might be he needs the race run to suit him nowadays but I’m going to give him another chance to run his race.

Todays Racing Tip – SLIPPER SATIN

Time & Track – 4.50 REDCAR
Best Odds – 20-1 B365
Analysis – She rattled off a quick hat-trick last summer(2 flat 2 hurdle) and is now back down to the same mark as her last flat win. She ran well on her last flat race at Ripon only giving way from the 2F pole and finished a 4L 5th. Since then she has run in hurdle race at Cartmel where she travelled the best in the lead until she weakened quickly from the 2nd last to finish last but that was a 0-120 h’cap hurdle where she was the lowest rated and outsider. Now back on the flat on her favoured softened ground over the shorter 14F trip on a track where from her 3 visits she has a 1st 2nd and 8th.
