Was going well the last day over C&D when falling at the second last in a race won by Palmers Hill, who has since gone on to score in good style at Ascot. He’s able to run off the same mark of 138 which may be lenient as his jockey had yet to ask any serious questions of the eight-year-old just over a month ago, and if none the worse for that fall then he should really be going close if producing a similar effort. He has better form figures on ground with plenty of give in it (2-2-1-1-2-2-1-3-4) and is a previous winner over this distance at this course in a novice hurdle. If showing his best form I’ll be disappointed if he isn’t seriously involved in the finish.
