Very lightly-raced seven-year-old, having only had the five runs over hurdles and this will only be his second start in a handicap. The first came after a 178-day break when finishing sixth of nine at Ludlow over 2m5f, he travelled and jumped nicely towards the front of the field before weakening turning for home. He was very keen throughout most of the race when ridden by an amatuer jockey so the booking of 3lb-claiming professional Kevin Brogan looks a good move and hopefully this bigger field will help this gelding settle better. The handicapper has dropped him 5lb to a mark of 95, which in my opinion is one in which he should be competitive off, as the form of that Ludlow race has taken a couple of boosts since with the second winning since and the third going close also. He takes a drop back in trip to the extended 2m3f, which again might suit him, and hopefully he can run into a place or better.
