Analysis – Landed a hat-trick of wins in the early months of last year in good style and added a fourth consecutive success to that after a summer break at Chepstow with a subsequent winner in behind. He was a sound fourth in a listed event at Newbury before regaining the winning thread when trying this 2m3f trip for the first time. Still only a six-year old, he may have more improvement in him as he’s unexposed over this journey and must hold solid claims from a 5lb higher perch with underfoot conditions fine.

Analysis – Has progressed nicely through the handicap ranks over the past year or so, winning three times which have included twice at this course more recently over C&D. That win came on seasonal reappearance and he’s since ran better than the result suggested at Cheltenham in the Caspian Caviar when a bad mistake four out thwarted any chance he had of winning, but he’d travelled well into the race and with a clear round here could well continue on an upward curve. He’s lightly-raced for his age and tends to come on for each outing, along with good course form he’s my pick here. I’d give Happy Diva a good chance too, the only worry is the form of her trainer (1-39 in recent months).

Analysis – The youngest and less exposed runner in this field of eleven, he won over a slightly shorter trip here the last day but has won over this 3m1f trip as well as 3m2f, both last season. His seasonal debut can be excused as he tends to need the run and 5lb higher now for that last success might not be enough to stop him being a major player. The visor is kept on after working so well last time and for me his chance increases if some rain gets into the surface (some has been forecast).

Analysis – Only success so far in sixteen NH races came in a maiden hurdle (won twice on the flat) but has taken to chasing well so far in two outings. He was third on debut at Sedgefield before finishing a good second over a furlong shorter at this course latest. He’s only a six-year old so should have improvement in him especially with him unexposed in this sphere and can race off the same mark of 124 as last time. Harry Skelton gets the leg up for local trainer Oliver Greenall, I think he should go well in a easier looking race to his recent second. Ubaltique must have a chance having won this race for the past three years (off same mark as last year & 2lb lower than year before) but he’s almost twice the selections age.
