Free Horse Racing Tips

My name is Jamie Maynard and have been following Horse Racing for around a decade now. I’ve always been into writing so I thought it was about time I put these both together and began writing some of my thoughts and opinions on racing into a blog which you can view here Gufti’s Blog

I’ll be posting daily tips, each with reasoning for selection with advised stakes and of course I will be keeping an updated profit/loss (P/L) record for you all to see my progress. Also, for mostly the main racing meetings (festivals) along with big Saturday meets, I’ll be previewing selected races and advising what I believe to be the best bet.

You’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions below today’s horse racing tips.

If you would like any further information about Jamie or his horse racing tips, then please fill out the form on the Contact Us page.

Today’s Free Tips

3.35 Lingfield – JUST YOUR TYPE (8/1 EW) – This ten-year-old is a strong stayer who is often seen in races over these marathon trips. He was sixth in the Eider (extended 4m) at Newcastle back in 2019 off a mark of 134, and finished a nine-length second over the same trip in the Scottish Borders National at the end of that year, off the same mark. He is now on a 9lb lower mark which puts him 3lb below his highest winning perch achieved in November 2020 over 3m2f at Uttoxeter. Despite not winning since then, his last two runs haven’t been bad, both off a 2lb higher mark, beaten just over three-lengths firstly before finishing fourth in the class 2 Tommy Whittle at Haydock, with a couple of good horses in front of him in Enqarde and Remastered. He goes well in heavy ground and should hopefully be staying-on better than most here off this mark with a stamina test which will suit.

4.08 Lingfield – GERICO VILLE (8/1 EW) – Despite being the least experienced in the field, I can see this six-year-old going well for Chris Gordon and Tom Cannon in an open looking handicap for novices. All three of his starts under rules have come over this C&D, possibly with an eye on this race, and the form of some of them has been franked. After a fifth on debut he was beaten just under two-lengths by a horse called Viva Lavilla, who has subsequently finished second and fourth in Grade 2 company. The last day he went off a shade odds-on but could only manage third, beaten five-and-a-quarter-lengths, the winner went close since and the fourth was beaten by 130-rated Ree Okka at Kempton recently. He starts life in handicaps off a mark of just 113 which could underestimate his ability, and having shown he handles soft/heavy ground, I think he could outrun his odds here.

Monday 17th January – AFTER THE FOX (4/1) – 1pt win – WON

It’s a weak looking handicap to end the Chepstow card today, but I feel Jane Williams’ seven-year-old looks one of the more likely winners. Her gelding put two poor runs behind him with a couple of decent efforts in defeat over the…

Saturday 15th January – COBBLERS DREAM (12/1) – 0.5pt ew – WON

He has made a good start to his racing career, with 3/5 wins under rules and this is only his second start in handicap company which shows just how unexposed he is. He left a good impression on his hurdling debut when…

Tuesday 11th January – INISHBIGGLE (10/1) – 0.5pt ew – WON

Very lightly-raced seven-year-old, having only had the five runs over hurdles and this will only be his second start in a handicap. The first came after a 178-day break when finishing sixth of nine at Ludlow over 2m5f, he travelled and jumped…

Sunday 2nd January – SHE’SASUPERMACK (3/1) – 1pt win – WON

Was in the process of running a big race the last day when mounting her challenge, but came down at the second last fence and hopefully compensation awaits her here with her able to run off the same mark. She would’ve finished…

Wednesday 29th December – CEDAR HILL (3/1) – 1pt win – WON

This seven-year-old has ran well in defeat on his first two starts of this campaign, beaten around the four-length mark on both occasions, with the first of those coming over a trip too far, and that showed as he weakened inside the…

Was going well the last day over C&D when falling at the second last in a race won by Palmers Hill, who has since gone on to score in good style at Ascot. He’s able to run off the same mark of…
